This application form is for peacebuilders and mediators who wish to request access to the platform. We will ask you a few questions below to determine your eligibility. Before filling out the application form, please read the short information below to make sure you understand what the Phoenix platform can offer you.LayoutCan I apply if I am not a peacebuilder or mediator? Yes, you can apply if you believe your use case is for the public good. In 2025, we will prioritise access for people working in peacebuilding and mediation, because that is our core mandate. What is Phoenix? Phoenix is an open source, non-commercial platform designed to enable peacebuilders and mediators to conduct ethical and participatory social media listening in order to inform conflict transformation work. The platform is user-friendly, and allows peacebuilders and mediators with no technical knowledge of social media listening to: Gather posts and comments from social media platforms, based on search parameters they define; Classify social media accounts as well as the text of the posts and comments, including with simple AI-assisted tools; Visualize the data they have collected from social media platforms, by building an interactive dashboard with graphs, tables and filters. Important note: If you are a developer or have know-how about running software and would like to use our open-source code, please go here. You can set it up if you want using the documentation on our GitLab; Phoenix code is licensed under AGLP-3.0. Will I be charged for using Phoenix? Once a user is approved to use the platform, we do not charge for any features. We also provide a manual that outlines the decisions needed to conduct social media listening in order to inform conflict transformation work, and collects use cases of social media listening in the peacebuilding and mediation fields. The Phoenix team is on hand to solve technical issues, answer process questions, and continue to offer capacity building resources. How much data can users collect on Phoenix? We set an upper limit for data collection per user that is directly tied to how much funding we have raised to cover the actual costs of getting data (with no profit margin added on our side, and a transparent guide to costs available in the user manual). We are committed to lowering the cost of getting data as we further develop the platform.
