April to September 2020 marked the first phase of the Building a Dialogue program in partnership with Danmission. The project first engaged a cohort of 80 individuals\/teams from Lebanon, Syria, and Iraq through an online \u201cTechnology for Peacebuilding \u201dcourse, the course ended with the participants submitting their own ideas of how to utilize technology to solve their local peacebuilding problem. Three of those initiatives were selected for the second phase of the project in 2021, where they received the technical and financial resources to implement their ideas. The initiatives used innovative creative approaches to peacebuilding such as using art to bring youth from different backgrounds together in Syria, using non-violent communication to quell digital tensions between Facebook users in Iraq, and creating a campaign to raise awareness on the dangers of ceremonial gunfire in Lebanon.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
